February 1993, San Marcos, Texas:  A phone call is made to a couple of members of George Strait’s Ace in the Hole Band from a member of Clay Blaker’s Texas Honky Tonk Band, a group that had often played shows with George and Ace in the Hole. The inquiry was about starting up a country jam session at a small, but popular night club on the town square. The jam would provide a place for players and singers to hone their skills on a normally off night and give some of the Ace in the Hole guys a place to pick when not on tour. On Monday, March 8th, 1993, the Monday Night Jam began.

As the weekly jam session grew in popularity over the ensuing years, musicians from all over came through town and stepped on stage to do their thing. Many of these artists and players moved on, never to be heard from again, while others ended up with record deals or made their way to the top playing with popular stars. Soon, the house band began receiving offers to play at other venues and events such as fairs, festivals, corporate events, and just good ol’ honky tonks in Texas, as well as in other parts of the country.
